There's no real need for interpretation here. Read what Alby had to say about this himself: "Vik lowered me down a 60 metre rock face into the opening of the cave. The razor-sharp jagged rocks threatened to cut the rope in two which meant I would have fallen to certain death."

This might fall into the "dodgy" category as well, but I'm open to being corrected: Alby goes on to say that Vik climbed down after him, and then in the WSII movie the cameraman is inexplicably down there as well. Just how did they get there?
