Shorty, i just used up a months subscription to bigpond reading all the Alby email. geez, i had no idea how many wageslaves like myself, would kill to throw everyday responsibility out the window, and do an alby. we all have this thing called choice that holds us back. its a big and exciting world out there and theres nothing stopping us except societies expectations of leading a normal life. one off these days i will muster the courage to say 'ah stuff it ' just like alby did in the late 70's , and go on a massive adventure. i think though i would prefer to copy the style of rob sitch and tom 'whatshisname' from that excellent travel show 'a river somewhere'. roland would approve of that anyway, congrats on an excellent tribute to alby i only wish i made the choice to attend 'cool dudes trip#2'

Alby is the best, but what do you watch after Adventure Bound's last credits roll? Well, satellite viewers can do as I do, I watch Lonely Planet, especially the ones hosted b Ian Wright, and on a good day, you can turn over to the Animal Planet channel and catch The Crocodile Hunter. For pure gonzo entertainment this guy can't b beat. Great web page guys. I've just completed taping the entire AB series and am recommending it to all my "mates." after reading most of the recent mail, i had to respond again. i read somewhere on the site that perhaps most americans haven't heard of alby....and appearently most of the mail is from americans. and the travel channel, i would think, is worldwide. it's amazing to find such a site. as other readers may find, it is reassuring to know that there are plenty of people out there who share the same sense of adventure. i do have a few questions though for whoever adds the responses in italics at the end of our remarks [Hey, that's me!]....whatever happened to alby's 2 favorite camels after the camels split and he went searching for them? also, how long have these episodes been aired in the u.s.? Dear Shortbread, On the island of Tanna, in Vanuatu in the South Pacific, there is a strange confusion of Christianity and local animistic religions that arose in the l940's (that's the nineteen-40's!). It seems that during the Second World War an American pilot unloaded supplies here. Unable to deliver them where they were supposed to go, he gave them away. The native Tannese were taken with this godlike abundance and proceeded to worship this man John (from) America. Several years later an American medical corps officer, wearing a Red Cross, comes into the picture. They believed that he was somehow connected to John Frum and took the little red cross as his symbol. To this day, several villages have a red cross surrounded by a picket fence as testimony to their worship of "frum's" symbol. Local "Prophets" of this cult predict his Second Coming, and tin-cans strung from wires, symbolizing radio stations, are built to allow Frum to speak to his people when he returns. There has been lots of controversy, apparently, over this cult, leading to arrests and even conflict, depending on who is declaring what. I've distilled this from a great guide book called The South Pacific Handbook, published here in the US by Moon Publications. It is written by David Stanley. Americans know about this strange cult because it has been publicized on several travel channels. I first heard about the general concept of "cargo cults" several years ago. Cargo cults, to use Stanley's definition, represent " A Melanesian religious movement which promises salvation through the return of ancestors who will bring European introduced goods (cargo) to their dependents". I heard this from my friend who was a US Peace Corpsman in Fiji. It must have arisen with the introduction to the islands of tons of supplies with American forces during the war. It apparently took hold in various ways throughout the South Pacific, and the John Frum story is only one element of this belief system. There was even a show on recently about Papua New Guineans who built a grass replica of a l930's vintage airplane on a remote grassy field. When asked what it was, they said it was a model of the wonderful vehicle that brought a god to them years and years ago. I'm really glad to have "made your acquaintance", Shortbread, even if only on the airwaves. I've never been to your part of the world, having spent my life either here in America or in Europe. Who knows, though...the world isn't that big anymore.

This here is my Alby Mangels story: I was guiding in Fiji for a few months when I was just 20. Once there I decided that since I was so close to Australia that I would go over there instead of home (USA) and travel around. As I was sitting on the plane from Fiji to Brisbane in August of 1997 when I met this odd fellow with blonde hair sitting next to me who was trying to start up a conversation. I was so tierd and sunburned from surfing all day that I didn't make much effort to talk with him but was polite enouph that he gave me his home phone number in Adelaide and told me that if I ever needed anything or wanted someone to show me around to just give him a call. I ended up living in Oz for several months and never thought to take him up on his offer. Well, two years later (this year) in 1999 I happened to be watching the Travel channel and I saw this really great show come on. I was excited about it and instantlly struck by his face. Then when they showed his name I froze for about 5 minutes in a very deep concentration. "was this the same man?". I then dashed to my room to and rummaged through all my old "ozzy stuff" (I'm very organised like that) I flipped through the pages of numbers AND THERE HE WAS! ALBY MANGELS!! Just to make sure I instantlly called him up. A man picked up the phone. I asked for Alby Mangels "this is him" WoW! From there I went about trying to explain myself and with a short call that was it. Can you believe I missed such a great oppertunity?! Since then I have seen dozens of episodes of Adventure Bound and am a full fledged fan.

I am returning to Australia in November of 1999 in hopes of finally taking him up on his offer and experienceing an Alby adventure first hand. Question: Did he ever take you guys out to dinner? and Could I possibly get his e-mail address? I am also interested if you know of any upcoming exeditions in need of an extra mate with a camera. But the find of a lifetime happend just this past Saturday when I bought, for 25c, the original World Safari 2 Soundtrack on vinyl !! I never knew it was ever made!

After being an Alby Mangels fan for over a year (Travel Channel in US) I finally found your web site. You guys obviously enjoy the quirky nature of his films as much as I do. The one that really got me hooked was when he bought Beau and Matilda, the camels, and then took them home tied to that beat-up Dodge truck with the pony in the back. And when he got back to his camper, some jerk had pushed it over the cliff. And then tonight Alby and Michelle were in the hot air ballon landing in the middle of the rhinoceros herd. Quite typically Alby has to see how close he can get, and then Michelle becomes afraid, runs away, and in the next scene she's up a tree! How did/does Alby get these babes to be filmed in any and all circumstances? A few nights before I was mesmerized by his attempting to drive through the mud in the Amazon. Alby has driven worse cars than even I have owned! My research takes me to Honduras and Guatemala, and twice I have traveled to Central America by bus from the US, and I still have yet to come up with adventures like Alby's. I also can't help but think, what's the camera man doing all this time? In all sorts of scenes you think "if I were in such a situation, I hope the camera man would drop the silly thing and help me!", but the film keeps rolling. By the way, does anybody know whatever happened to Michelle? And now I'm thinking about how proud Alby was when he got back to camp with the helicopter to search for the lost camels, and found that Rick had female company! Reading the web site and e-mails are so fun, with people relating their favorite Alby stories. If someone sat down and wrote this as a story, everybody would say "come on, nobody can do all that". But Alby went and did it. If Alby wants to do a Central America trip, I'll take my chances with the jinx and offer to go along. Mention is often made of Alby's shorts, more specifically the shortness of his shorts. I couldn't help but cringe at a recent letter posted (thankfully one of only a few derogatory ones) referring to Alby's "faggy" shorts. I seriously doubt that the writer will look anywhere near as good as Alby when he is 50. I can understand people writing in about someone they admire. Alby Mangels has certainly impacted me. Hes brought the world to my t.v. screen. Now Ive decided to see it all for myself. Im going to start working and continue working through high school for money. With the money Im starting off for myself.Im starting in Miami Florida, and sailing to Freeport on The Grand Bahama island. From there I want to visit much of the rest of the Bahamas. If things are going good I want to then follow the Carribean island chain all the way down to South America. Im very serious about this. I think about it constintly. I saw the entire travel Channel presentation today, (and taped it), and all I can say is, Fantastic! The new Adventure Bound episodes filled in a lot of holes and explained a lot. I wonder why they weren't in the original run of episodes? WS1, for all it's amateur qualities and dated look, was completely compelling. I could not move from the spot. Just wanted to congratulate you on an absolutely sensational web site. When I first visited the site I was skeptical that you could do justice to the big man of the doco. In fact, you had me wetting myself. I immediately alerted all my friends about the site. We're all avid Alby fans. Before I left oz we used to have Alby film nights where we would watch all three world safaris in a single session. The trilogy we used to call it. The great thing about the World Safaris is that it's like watching Spinal Tap the movie. No matter how many times you've seen it, you always discover something new. For example, in one scene, Alby and his mate find a "disused" row boat on a beach. Its a stormy day but they decide to head out through the surf to do a spot of fishing. The camera man is still on the beach filming the procedings. If you turn the volume up during this scene you can just hear Alby talking above the crash of the waves. They catch a big fish and haul it into the boat:

Alby: Hit it with the oar.

His mate obliges and starts belting the fish, but with the blunt end of the oar.

Alby: Not that end, not that end

They end up punching a hole through the bottom of the boat and have to swim back to shore, still with fish in hand. The curse of Alby lives on.

I was reading your in search of Alby section. When I was in Airlie beach in January 98 i went on a cruise around the whitsunday's. I asked our crusty captain if he'd seen or heard of Alby. Apparently, Alby was in the area only 3 months earlier.

I have a dream of one day catching up wiht Alby and sharing a beer with him. Keep up the good work.

Y'know Alby, you just induce these flashbacks of when I was a youngster. I hitched across Canada when I was twenty (1973). Did it again with my then wife-to-be Lynn in '75 when we also hitched down the West coast of the USA and eventually back to Providence, RI (That's New England USA for the info of those as far away as Australia) Same kind of things would happen. I could tell you the story of nearly freezing to death by the side of the road in Virginia on Thanksgiving Day '76. Or the two farmboys in North Carolina who picked us up thinking we were Charlie Manson and Squeaky Fromme! I'm sure the stories are few by comparison. But certainly the same flavour as the ones you tell every night on TV. And you're still doing it. God bless ya Alby! And color me totally green with envy! BTW, It was a real shame to see what happened to that Jeep in Brazil. I've got one just like it that I built from parts, right from the frame up. It was painful to watch. And now my wife Lynn is hooked on the show. I finally got her weaned away from Xena! (It's on at the same time you are) And I'm sure I'm not the first to say this, but let me know if you need a real good mechanic. I've got a bit of experience with Jeeps. Everything about Alby, his attitude, his love of nature, the naturalness of his life, speaks eloquently of a European attitude. My ex-boyfriend was born and raised in Denmark, and there seems to be very little difference between he and Alby. Running around in underwear or "faggy" shorts is no big deal to them. To them, the human body has a beauty all its own in a natural, non-sexual way. As Americans, we choose to make what is natural to them something sexual or sordid to us. If we allow him, Alby can teach us a lot about being one with, and respecting, nature and the role it plays in our daily lives. Anyway, I would like to say a few words to Alby himself, even if he never reads this - here goes: Alby, you have changed my life! You may just be another guy, with a dream that many may have had before you, but with one major difference - you followed that dream, created your life from that dream and, in the process, have inspired a whole lot of other people to follow their own! This may sound kind of corny, but before I started watching your show I really did not have any goals in my life. I did poorly in school and basically just vegged-out - life seemed so complicated and boring to me - I did not understand how so many people could let themselves become just another number - mortgage payment, income taxes, two kids, a wife, a house in a suburban housing developement, a four door gray sedan - that kind of thing. And because of the thought that i'd probably end up in the same position, all chained up to everyday life, unable to go anywhere - I just did not want to do anything at all! But now, because of you, I have realized that I can't just sit around here dreaming, that I have the power to manifest my dreams and create my life just like you did! That is why I have decided to save my money and dedicate all my funds and power to two goals - first to start my own world safari, maybe even film it - who knows?! And second, to help you as much as I possibly can to save those endanged gorrillas. I may not have much now, but I will make sure that whatever I do not use to fund my travels, I will use to help you in this effort. I wanted the World Safari book so badly that I spent MONTHS searching Australian webpages and book stores over the internet, hoping that I could find an old copy for sale. Most did not have it----some never heard of i----others treated it like gold and expected us to pay well over $100 for it (which I actually considered at one point in desperation), but I FINALLY found a book store in Kent Town, Adelaide South Australia that actually had one and sold it to me for what I thought was DIRT cheap ($24.00 US dollars---that included postage!!)! The book was in very good condition, with the dust cover. Ya' gotta love this internet!

Needless to say, I feel as though I've won the lottery!! My husband and I treasure the book as though it's priceless, because to us, it is priceless!! This internet is wonderful! I will probably never make it to Australia, but I've purchased a book from a local book store as though it were around the corner! We are big fans of Mr. Mangels, especially because of his conservationist nature, and his compassion for the animals of this world.

Thanks for listening (reading). I just wanted to share my excitement about getting this GREAT book. Most of our friends don't understand how or why one man and his crazy adventures could mean so much to us, but I'm pretty sure you understand ;o). It's an Alby thing!

My husband & I watch 'Adventure Bound' nightly and feel like we're a part of his adventure as we watch his running episodes faithfully. We love the fresh take of the show, the 'real life' view of the world and the overall show presentation. You can't help but feel his passion, his excitement and share his sadness as he tells his life-long stories.

Last night, we watched the hour show on Ruwanda and his up close and personal photography of the mountain gorillas. It was like I became a part of the adventure, being a close Jane Goodall follower and a supporter of save the gorillas in Ruwanda.

I especially liked the music featured in the show, more specifically the last 20 minutes when the gorillas were featured very close to all the crew. What imagery!! Is it possible to find out the name of this group who featured this music - would it be indicative of the country where this feature was filmed?

If you can provide me with information about the music, I would really appreciate your time & effort in this regard.

In regards to the Adventure Bound show, we plan to stay tuned and catch our little piece of the excitement every night at 8:00. We love it!!

In the episode where Alby helps rescue baby Flamingos, the name of the guy given as one of the rescuer's was Jack Bausfield. Isn't his name actually Ralph? (I thought Jack was Ralph's father). Hello Alby geniuses,

My friend Dan Weadon put me on to the Alby page last night and you have made my life here bearable. I am Chip Henriss-Anderssen (as seen on TV) I'm the guy with the obnoxious American accent who said: "You can't run, you can't hide, justice is here!" I also said: "There's definitely a new sherriff in town." Many people, Gen Cosgrove included, did not see the humor in these statements. At last now I have found a group that will appreciate me. You see when the journalists asked me those tricky questions like: "So what kind of a message does this operation send to the militia? I thought to myself...'shit what would Alby say?' The answers just came flooding in. Dan and I have just ordered Alby shirts from the official home page. When they arrive we will send you a pic of us wearing them on Safari here in East Timor. I've just visited The Page Dedicated to Alby Mangels last night and I found it very informative.

The first time I heard of Alby Mangels was about two years ago on the Travel Channel. This year, I started watching his program. When I saw my first episode of the program, I couldn't stand it, but the show soon grew on me. It's certainly one of the funniest television shows I've ever watched (I watch Lonely Planet for drama, Adventure Crazy for action adventure and Advent ure Bound for comedy).

The Page dedicated to Alby Mangels is a nice site. I have two suggestions, though: 1.) Get graphics that move. 2.) Get a guestbook.

Hey Shortbread! The episode of Alby helping save baby flamingos...I'm not sure where it was filmed. I am familiar with Bausfield from a couple of programs they had one day on Animal Planet. His father was named Jack, and the young man Alby was helping is named Ralph. Ralph has some sort of conservation program he is continuing with since his father's death some years ago. His father died in a plane crash in which Ralph was severely burned, though you can't tell it to look at him. What made me pay attention was seeing Ralph's hands, the native bracelets on his wrist and then hearing the voice. (I retain the strangest bits of information!) I don't think he is as well known as Alby because I've only seen a show on him twice, in the same day. At any rate, you should check him out if possible. He seems to be as good a man as Alby when it comes to caring for God's creatures. If I find anything on him I'll let you know. Diana Abshire

Well the shirts came and Dan and I went out and got some pics of us on Safari in ET! I'm the one on the left and Dan is the dark haired dued. Not the guy in the middle. The first pic is us with our Land Rover with a local "guide" complete with spear! The second pic is us with a "tasteful" statue near our HQ. By the looks of the decor etc it's no wonder the people here wanted independence from the Indons. I hope people who see this pics are inspired to "follow their dreams".

"The reason why dogs are beaten for so long is that there is a belief that the slower more painful the death is, the more potent the dog's meat will be. Killing the dog slowly causes the dog's adrenaline to flow, this flow of adrenaline throughout the dog is believed to increase the aphrodisiac power of the meat. While the dog is slowly being killed, it is of course screaming in pain, and trying to resist the grip of the man doing the killing. One method is to tie the dog from his hind legs upside down. The man or men than beat the dog's body all over with clubs or bats. Beating it this way is said to do 2 things. One is to increase the flow of adrenaline and the other is to tenderize the meat. While the dog is being beaten, it gets to the point where it urinates and defecates on itself, and the urine feces typically flow down the dog's body, getting in it's eyes and causing more pain.

Eventually, during this intensive beating, blood flows out of the dog's mouth and nose due to internal bleeding, and it finally dies. This beating process has no set time....It can be a few minutes or it can take an hour, depending on the man doing the killing and how much he is into the belief that beating it slowly is best for a quality aphrodisiac. I hope this clarifies why the dogs are beaten first. In a large facility, the dogs may not be hung by their hind legs. Instead the man enters the large dog cage, selects the dog, grabs it, and while holding it by the neck, begins to beat it in the head in order to crush the skull. Of course, there are so many methods of beating the dogs because there is no regulation on this."

Calling companies, such as Hyundai, Samsung, Daewoo, Kia, and Ford, to inform them on why you will not purchase their Korean made products will help the cause. The objective is to pressure the South Korean government into enforcing the Korean Animal Protection Law, which was adopted on 7 May 1991. Extend the Boycott. Korea and Japan will be co-hosting soccer's World Cup 2002. Pressuring World Cup sponsors and FIFA, as well as boycotting the games will have tremendous influence upon the Korean nation. A bill was introduced during August 1999 in the Korean National Assembly to legalize the torture and consumption of dogs. Voting on the bill has been deferred to avoid international scrutiny and embarrassment until after the games end. In the mean time, the Korean government plans to instate a similar policy it used during the 1988 Seoul Olympics when it deemed dog meat to be "abominable". It will restrict tourist access to areas where they might witness dogs being tortured, killed and served in meals. Dog meat restaurants and markets that may be accessible will be temporarily shut down to prevent the rest of the world from learning about the sadistic practices. I'm looking for a copy of the book by Marie Appleton and Alby. I've managed to get a Xeroc of the dust jacket from a friend in Australia who went to the local library and found it, but the bookfinders on the web are having a hard time of it. Any suggestions? My favorite channel in America is the Travel Channel. I often watch Lonely Planet and, of course, Adventure Bound. I plan to be a bush pilot in Latin America and Australia - I believe that this is the best way for me to have a lifestyle like Alby. I am a passionate, adventurous girl, who will probably always have "itchy feet", the "travel bug", or a "wandering heart." I'm currently in college, but would really like to meet Alby, or at least chat with him some day. I really admire him and hope that he is doing well. I also hope that his nephew Rick and his other buddies are doing well. Oh, about all of his chicks - I think that situation is more touchy (I guess that's the best word) than most people realize. If any of you have traveled alone to remote areas, like Alby and I have, it gets really lonely at times. A companion of the opposite sex, who shares your passion, is hard to find in your hometown, let alone a foreign country. I'm glad that he found some agreeable female companions, but don't understand why they didn't stick around. Oh well, that's really none of my business anyway, and I don't know Alby personally, yet. :) Please forward this e-mail to Alby, or at least to someone who has his e-mail address. Ripping web site from a guy who should know. Alby's adventures make mine pale in comparision. Haven't actually bumped into him in Chechyna, Algeria or Afghanistan but that was probably because he had just snagged the last good looking chick and left for the real danger zones (Vanuatu you say? PS. 3 years ago we were told that Alby owned a farm in the Dorrigo Area of N.S.W so we went to investigate. Several folk at the local hotel gave us directions as to where to find this farm as they said it was the one where he proposed to Michelle. they directed us to a humpy outside town. Alas it was populated by an irate and possibly retarded old women and her vicious dogs. It was obvious that Alby had not been there for some time. We just couldnt imagine him getting desperate enough to get with this one.(or her dogs)!

Great site! It's amzing to see that there are so many other Alby fans out there. I'm 16 and live in near Boston and if I had to decide on one person as a role-model it would without a doubt be Alby Mangels. I admire his desire to explore and his views on conserving the enviroment and there is also something else about him that I can't quite put my finger on. He is just an all around interesting guy. A few weeks ago my husband and I were looking for something to watch and came across Alby's adventures. What a wonderful way to spend two hours each night - not only envious but I think that it is a dream that everyone would love to share. Great page guys. I have to agree with you Alby Mangels is quite a legend. A man like Remington, Roosevelt, and Hemingway. One of the great traveler/artists of our time. I can hardly believe there were only several web pages based on Mr. Mangels. Might as well introduce myself. My name is Casey Calouette, I live in Escanaba Michigan, USA. I just came out of the military, andlooking back to the worst days on my tank in the army I just remember back to Alby, slogging mud with some god-forsaken jeep in some crappy trench that was called a road. Made everything feel a bit better in my mind. At least when you get stuck in a tank there are 3 other tanks to yank you out. Now that I am out of the service I am looking to embark on the sort of journey Mr. Mangels and you guys also took. Except mine will be in the states only, hiking in canada, along lake superior, the appalachian trail. And them someday, starting in Alaska and hiking the length of the rockies to Mexico. (Some day) Do you have any idea if Alby ever plans on coming to the states? He's missing out on quite a bit of secluded scenery. In the northern states there is some of the most secluded and beautiful land Ive ever seen on this world. Well Ive burned enough of your time. Thanks much man

What a service you chaps are providing, filling in the gaps for those of us who have only recently 'found' Alby. After seeing the peculiar trailers for "Adventure Bound" on The Travel Channel a friend and I were keen to see just who "...wild man Alby Mangels..." was, but the episodes we saw raised more questions: Was it a real trip? The whole thing was obviously set-up and faked (This was the infamous Blind Man On Train episode), so obviously that I could not imagine anyone was meant to believe it. I turned to the Lonely Planet site and posted a request for info.

Incredible. What I got was a dozen or more vitriolic responses, largely concentrating on Alby's shorts (well, I admit that there are times when he makes Tarzan look modest) and his female companions. All in all Mr. Mangels seems to be the object of much derision and jealousy among the travelling fraternity.

Faced with such a wave of hostility I opted just to watch the show until I discovered your site and filled in the gaps. My favourite segments are, I now know, from what was "World Safari II" but The Travel Channel appears not to believe in showing the series in any sort of order: This week we started with the same episode two nights running, then the following day leaped from South America to Africa.

I don't think I'm quite ready to sport an Alby T-shirt as yet, but I'm definitely joining the converted.

Thanks for the reply. It's been interesting piecing together Alby's cinematic efforts from the fragmented fare offered on American telly. If I hadn't landed a job over here with free satellite access thrown in I'd probably never heard of Alby (I've never owned a telly at home in the UK); as it is, only your website has really allowed me to make some sense of the episodes I have seen.

I wonder how "Adventure Bound" compares to the three World Safari" films. AB seems to be an umbrella title which also covers "Alby's Australia," an episode of which I watched this afternoon, but the episodes culled from WS contain frequent flashbacks, so there is a definite mixing of the Safaris beyond the fact that The Travel Channel do not seem concerned about showing the series in any sort of order.

The first episodes I saw, the clearly set-up ones, were obviously from WSIII. I entirely agree that WSII was the better film: Aside from being more genuinely dramatic and unforced the dubbed dialogue and sound effects and Alby's ever evolving facial hair give it something lacking in later adventures. Mind you, the only scenes of WSI I have viewed as yet have been in the flashback sequences. Maybe the poorer picture quality means that it is not shown here as often as its sequels. Probably the best thing for me to do is just get hold of the videos. Hmm... My sister lives in Brisbane, so maybe I can persuade her to send a copy.

Quentin and I are working on the sound track for the series, ie. the music,
special effects, mixing etc.. It takes up most of my days at the studio (at
the moment we have to churn out an episode every two weeks to keep to
schedule), but the work is a lot of fun and very rewarding.
I am personally not at liberty to send you our copies (of course) but when
Alby comes in next I'll ask him. He's in the States at the moment but he'll
be back in Adelaide in a couple of weeks.
Well, I have to scoot. I am mixing episode 11 at the moment - Alby's in
Vanuatu, watching the locals "bungie jumping" off ten storey high platforms
using vines....very interesting.

as a big fan of alby's, i was shocked to hear from a friend that alby was in
actual fact, the one who shot his own dog. presumably for dramatic effect.

what do you know of this story? have you heard anything similar?

i would be very much obliged if you could put my mind at rest or contribute
anything on this matter.

My son and I have become hooked on Adventure Bound on the Travel Channel - every night from seven til eight.
My son, Jacob, is 5 1/2, and has learned so much from watching this show.
Jacob asked if we could write to Alby, so I logged on looking for a website for him, and found yours first. It has been
fascinating reading it, and you've put so much work into it. What I don't understand is that it only has 403 visits
logged in. Is this possible? Am I one of only 403 people interested enough to go looking for Alby? I would have
figured it in the thousands!!!
At any rate, this was just to say thanks for the great website and the great read, and good luck, hope Alby really
springs for dinner for you guys sometime.
We're in the Philadelphia, Pennsylvania area, and have a vacation in Alaska planned for 2004 and a vacation in
Australia planned for 2009. We save our change... plan well ahead, and it really works!

must say well-done. Not sure if I can ad anything but only to say that you can count on my vote for 'Alby for King

     Though I have never had the chance to meet alby personally, I feel as if
I have already aquainted myself with this extraordinary person. I watch
ADVENTURE BOUND just about every day, and these fascinating documentaries
have been a great inluenece on me to live life to the fullest and seek
adventure!! When it comes time for me to select a career ( I am 15 by the way
) I wish to be a journalist for NATIONAL GEOGRAPHIC, and do two things I
love, traveling and writing. Alby has been a positive influence on me, and
maybe someday I will have the chance to meet this wonderful person.

        My name is Matt Rogers and I love watching Alby go on his adventures. I have always wanted to
travel, but until I started watching his shows I have been seriously wanting to contact the travel channel and
tell them i want to do what Alby does. I wouldn't be able to do as good of a job as he has, but it would be
my dream to go on adventures and record them ontape. I am in college and was thinking about moving to
Austrailia when I graduate. I was told there wasn't a lot of need for school teachers there and I got kind of
disappointed. All I want to do now is to get my Isuzu Trooper and go on a long adventure. If Alby could ever
have the time to write me back I would be thrilled to have been written back by such a miraculous man.
