Here is what some other visitors have had to say from April 2000 - Dec 2000...
Thank you guys for putting together such a comprehensive site about
this extraordinary individual! I saw my first
"Adventure Bound" on the Travel Channel in January and have been hooked
ever since. In fact, I told my brother
who is now on his own world adventure to watch out for Alby during
his visit to NZ and OZ.
I have such a love of travel and adventure too and seeing Alby's shows
has re-awakened that old bug in me too. I
just have to convince my wife now that I am not just some crazy old
fool but that this is a real lifestyle that I happen
to love. More on that later if you are interested...
A couple of quick questions at this time. Where is Judy now and
how is she doing? Any word on this from
anyone? She really has been my favorite of the "Alby Chicks".
Also, where is Alby now and how close is he to
releasing his next series of films and shows?
Again, thank you for keeping up this great site for all of us who are
truly interested in Alby and his incredible life
adventures.
yours,
Howard (Fort Worth, Texas, USA)
Alby!! Love your travels. Only recently got dish with T.C. Made for

just got

influenced that I'm going on my own 6100 mile adventure. On a Barefoot

Keep Going Alby!!

Hello,
You guys have an excellent site! It took me
a little while to find anything on Alby and
fortunately I found your place. My family and I started watching
the Adventure Bound
Series on the Travel Channel 3 months ago and now we don't miss an
episode. As a
matter of fact, the wife, children and I are starting to plan our on
little adventures. With
children I doubt we will get into too many dangerous situations but
we will have a good time
anyway.
It's good to see so many other people who appreciate
the significance of what Alby has
done and inspired. What he has done has had a marvelous impact
on our whole family. I
think the reasons why are very well put forth in your website.
Anyway, if you do pass
messages on, tell Alby "Thanks", we will see him again tonight.
Best regards,
Trevor, Paula, Hunter and Adeline
Charles City, Iowa, U.S.
P.S. Might want to mention to Alby to start advertising
his World Safari Series on the
Travel Channel. I honestly did not know they existed until I
came to your website today.
Hello There!
Awhile back I did a mention of your ALBY website
in ONE WORLD BULLETIN...
you may recall I scrooooed up the URL!
I would appreciate it if you could pen a column for me
and OWB ... maybe 10 to 20 lines about AM's latest escapades
and the correct URLS...
ALSO the exact URLs for ordering T-SHIRTS and for
Alby's favourite charity (I beleive it was mountain gorillas?)
Hey, thanks a lot... I caught an ALBY TV show last night
and I must say I think the beard makes him look OLD...
better to see him clean-shaven, I think!

One World Bulletin Columnist & Big Alby Mangels Fan!
Dear fellow Alby Fans,
Just wanted
to tell you that I have recently revised my World
Safari with Alby Mangels website, and am ready to share something else
with
all of you. A while back, it struck me to create the first-ever
Alby Mangels
Desktop Themes based on each of the World Safari films. However,
I made only
one (WS3) and recieved no feedback. I, myself, actually
didn't care for
it...and I, myself hardly used the Theme. This time, things
are different.
Recently....I obtained the "grail" so-to-speak.
The extremely rare
publication of the World Safari Book...well...I have a copy of it.
(Obtained
by a nice fella named Jake Cooper from Florida) From it, I scanned
numberous
pictures, some of which I used to decorate the website. The others...I
used
to create extremely detailed and picturesque wallpapers. The
is one for
each World Safari, and due to their detail...they are rather large
in size.
You can download them from my What's New section of my website.
Trust me
when I say that the download time is well worth it (and totally FREE-
of
course).
Also...on the same page...I added a
Picture Gallery that has some great
pictures from the book. ...Some even big enough to print out
and frame
(possibly). Well, I've done my part in informing you, my faithful
droogs.
One more thing,...if you have the time, please email me and tell me
how you
like the images, wallpapers and any other changes that I've made.
Thank you
very much. You guys make this all worth while.
Cheers.

Dear Alby,
How come you don't walk everywhere like that Kung Fu guy?
Anyway i still
think you're pretty cool. Peace.

I just started to watch Adventure Bound about 1 month ago. I
was flipping through the channels until I saw
this crazy man spear fishing, flying a helicopter, and save a pony!
I thought this guy is "amazing!" Thanks
Alby for the wonderful footage and inspiration that gives to all.
By the way, I couldn't help notice all of your
lady travellers----definitely a renaissance man!

Hi there, I have looked everywhere trying to find out the name of the
new catamaran. it's an African word I believe. Thanks. dennis@spnt.com
Hi kids how was the trip? Must have been a blast. But alittle
hard with
the little ones I bet. Anything wild happen good or bad to ya
mates?
It's been quite in the Alby camp. We're watching
his new docos(I know US
only) and Alby is having a great time it seems...More humor in these
later
shows.
Myhome page is just for fun to tell our friends where we have
gone with
our brew tours and just to be silly. It's not to "do" antthing
persay. Did
you folks have any great beers or wines in Europe?
By the by,how and where is Rob? I send him
pics and the like but he is
nowhere to be seen.
Glad your back safe mates.
Goodonya

Hi guys!!
Just a quick note. I was talking to alby this afternoon.
H e used our
PowerDive 12 Volt Surface Air Supply Units, in his latest series, and
we
will be supplying him with our new model, for the next one.
Please take a moment to have a look at our website at www.powerdive.com
I'm sure you'll like what you see.....Alby sure enjoyed using them.
I hope
to have a link on his macbitz site soon, but would also love to have
a
mention on your site. I will be publishing, in the next few weeks,
an
Albys' Adventures" page on our site, and will have "Streaming Video
Clips"
from his last documentary, using our great machines.
Anyway, take care. I look forward to hearing from you soon.
Regards,
Steve Gregory.

Hi Guys,
If I ask really nicely, will you pass this letter on to Alby?
Wouldn't
want to be an annoyance... Problem is, I'm finishing up my third year
as a
pre-veterinary med student at the Univ. of New Hampshire, USA, and
my
too-good-to-be-true summer plans just fell through. So I'm stranded
with no
job and one last summer before applying to vet school. I am hoping
to get
into large, wild animal medicine, and I am desperately seeking a summer
adbenture that will introduce me to the places and ways these animals
live.
I can just imagine that Alby must know somewhere to send me. If there
is
ANYTHING you can do to help me out, I'd be forever thankful! I will
go most
anywhere the opportunities are from the second week in June. One thing,
I
just have to be back from the summer in time for the Labor Day Jimmy
Buffett
concert. I've been sailing all my life, and I've been a western horseback
trail-guide, if such credentials will help.
Thanks...

Hi Guys!
I am a frequent visitor to your site. I really love the Alby
Mangels Adventure Bound series shown here in the
U.S. They have recently started showing (one night a week!!)
Alby's new series of videos. My question is,
Who is Joey? and how did Alby meet her? Where in the U.S. is
she from? I guess Michelle rode off into
the sunset after she left the farm while Alby was bathing - never to
be heard from again??? Guess she
didn't like traveling a lot and Alby's farm a lot less!
I am scouting around for the World Safari book at used book stores
but NO lock so far! Be glad when a
new one is printed.
I love your site - keep up the good work!

Thanks for the great web site for Alby. That man is my hero, to do what
he has done
and see what he has seen. Yep, I've had that dream.

G'gay Dudes. Hows it going? I have just connected with net and interested
in
stetting up a site. I have completed my first solo documenty 'Adventering

(already sold to Europe) and currenty working on the 2nd. I have been
following your web site with much interest and think that you could
do a
realy cool job; how about it?..... Please? I have artwork at my disposal
to
help out eg: Video cover, footage and text. Looking forward to your
reply
befor my next trip in a couple of weeks,

Awesome
I friend kindly passed on your alby web site--most impressed. I
cant relate
to many sightings but I'm pleased to see I'm not the only person interested
in chasing up the whereabouts of this great Australian legend. My only
tale
of any worth dates back a few years when two close friends borrowed
my dato
120y, donned some sluggos and headed for Murray Bridge. they allegedly
spotted Alby's mum Ms mangedorf? and reckon thay caught as glimpse
of the
great man but he bolted when he spied the cameras- dont know- but I
can
gladly say that my mantel piece sports a sigbned murray bridge hotel
stubbie
cooler reputedly the property belonging to one ALBy m.
keep up the good work

Great web page.
We've just discovered alby here in Tennessee USA (Travel Channel).
He's the greatest.
thanks
bob
I have been watching Alby on the travel channel
and absolutely love him! He is a truly free man
and he loves animal and nature!
He also is incredibly handsome and sexy.
Was Michelle crazy not to marry this guy?
I would have gladly lived in a shack with him!
Ps: Isn't it a little strange for a bunch of guys
to have a crush on him and post his sexy pictures? I could see you
liking his girlfriends
but>>>>>>thought it a little odd for you guys.
Your web site is really terrific. great Job
Hey you guys ! I would like to see what you cut off from the bottom!
LOL
! so okay you just love his adventurous spirit......thought I would
ask
the question anyway. great web site and keep
us updated on the Alby quest.
What a fabulous, incredible web site. I was merely searching for a picture
of Alby to show a friend, and
instead found out everything I ever wanted to know about him. You guys
are great. I am truly impressed.
Thanks, Katherine
Hey Alby, haven't been to this website in a while but I'm glade
to say I
finally graduated high school and I'm ready to start my own adventures.
I've
seen your new videos and they look pretty good. Keep up the good work.
Stay
adventure crazy. Sincerely:

Help! Adventure Bound on The Travel Channel has discontinued
some of
the daily 6:00 to 8:00 pm shows. What is happening? I never
miss Alby
and was soooo disappotinted the travel channel put on something
very
uninteresting to replace Alby. Please try to keep on in the United
States! We are addicted to him and his great programs. (Even
if we have
to see reruns over and over) That is the best program on American
TV!!!!
We really enjoy Adventure Bound. Keep up the good shows.
Really enjoying
his new series with the new boat. "New girl" and all. But,
we miss Snowie
and Sniffles!!! Where are they????
hi,i am a big fan of alby mangles. what i am interested in is some more
info on that wild
man k.b.i am not even sure how to spell his name. he is truly a wildman
and i would
appreciate the help..

Dear Guys,
Let me just say, as an Australian male from the same generation as you
guys,
your website makes me a very proud Australian. Mention the name Alby
Mangels
to an Australian male between the age of 23-50 and you will invariably
get
the response - ALBY MANGELS IS A F..K'N LEGEND!!!!
Some of my most fondest memories as a child was being taken up by my
father
to the local R.S.L with my brothers and wathcing the World Safari films!!
I mean could you possibly think of a better combination for males in
the
1980's:
1. Adventure Films
2. Good looking girls
3. Beer
And somehow, Alby managed to combine all three into what can only be
described as the perfect evening out!!
And your dedication page is a fitting memorial of the legacy that is
Mangels.
I own all of Alby's films and I am in the process of trying to culture
my
American girlfriend into appreciating Alby - it shouldn't take too
long (who
am I kidding!!)
In the past, I have immortalised Alby Mangels in two t-shirts of my
own. The
first one says on the front - "Alby Mangels: ordinary man, extraordinary
adventures/women" on the back it has a picture of Alby and a listing
of all
his films. The other shirt has a picture of Alby on the front and the
quote
he said to Tina Daulton when asked about including women in his films
for
meat-value. Anyways, if demand is high, I might be able to run a second
print of the shirts (pending permission from the man himself of course,
at
the moment, there is only one each of these shirts in the world). After
all,
I don't want to take away sales from the World Safari trading post
General
Store. Go out and buy one of Alby's official t-shirts. If you're a
real man
you will!!!
Thanks guys and keep up the good work, pretty soon you might be reaching
the
same "Dead-Set Legend" status as Alby - we can all dream can't we???
Take care,
Daniel Hopper.
Aloha,
I wish Alby was here in Hawaii. He is fantastic!!
I can't believe some idiot put him down on your site.
As far as I'm concerned those shorts look just fine.
Alby's got a great body. I should know, I live on a U.S.Marine Corps
Base here in Hawaii, Alby would fit right in. My
husband is very impressed with him too. He's the 1st Sgt. of Marines
4th Force Recon. He watches the shows with
me when he can and enjoys watching Alby set out on new adventures.
I think Alby comes across as being both intelligent, and funny. Most
of all he's the kind of person anyone would be
proud to call a friend. I hope your reading this Alby! You have one
of the best shows on T.V. and I tell everyone I
know to watch your show. So far all my family & friends agree.
Your the best!
Mahalo,
Lilia Roberts
What's up fellas? The website you've done here is fabulous.
It is true,
many Americans aren't much exposed to Alby but that is just because
most
of us watch trash on tv instead of cool shows like Alby and the Croc.
Hunter. Let me just add that although he is the ballsiest son-of-a-bitch
I have ever seen, the Croc. Hunter is no where near as cool as Alby.
And
all of my friends and I have come to agree that Alby is pretty much
the
coolest cat around. Cruzing from one exotic island to the next,
getting
whatever ass he can in the process. I would love a chance to
email him
personally, so I'm asking nicely....may I? I would be greatful
for a
response from you and as I said, great job on the website!
Sincerely,
Michael J. Diebold
I love adventure bound when it is on here in my part of the world (MORRIS

Hi, I am an Alby fan and I am trying to find my favorite episode of
Adventure
Bound, and I was wondering if maybe you could help me...
It's the episode with Snowy, and when they get off of the boat and
Snowy
starts biting that bull, do you know which one I am talking about???
If you
need more info. on what the episode contains, please let me know. But
I am
searching for that episode.
Thanks,
Erin
Trying to find who built Alby's New Boat I Tkink the name is Zenina
Thank's Jerry Timm
that is a very intersting site you have. I don't think I share your
fanaticism, but i am a fan. it is a very infomative site and
I enjoyed
it. Good luck meeting him and with the site. I think the world could
learn from his example.
[Who are you calling a fanatic???!]
Alby, thanks for hours of enjoyment from your Adventure Bound series.
I
discovered this show on the Travel Channel in the mid 1990's. I have
watched
every one of them I think, many of them more than once. It's nice to
sit in
my den and go with you to all the exciting places you've been and do
things
with you. If I can't do these things for real the next best thing is
to watch
you do them. Where is the American girl, Joie I think is her name?
Many
thanks for the show. I wish you well

Hello from Idaho in the United States;
My name is Renea, and my husband is preparing this e-mail for me.
On July 14, 2000, the Travel Channel had a
program about a gentleman breaking a wild horse. The series was
Adventure Bound Traveling North, Heart of
Australia, episode # 71899.47
I'm interested in finding out if that man has a book or video that
I may purchase, or any other information regarding
breaking wild horses.
Thanks for your help..
My name is Chris Wojcik. I live in Pennsylvania in the US, and
I think with
the possible acceptation of 21 Jump Street (my childhood favorite)
Adventure Bound is the best show ever. In the US we get Alby
via The Travel
Channel. It used to be 2 times daily but the corporate blood
sucking pig's
who call themselves "program directors" busted Alby down to 2
times on
Saturday. That's only a 7th of my usual fix!!! I can't
take it much more.
Well unless you have vhs tapes of Adventure Bound or World Safari you
can
give me, i suppose i'll just finish by repeating the subject of my
e-mail...

Hi Guys!
Great Alby site, any ideas where I could get the music from the WS1, WS11...
I noticed that on the credits, a few of the programs listed, "soundtrack
now
available"
Appreciate your help & keep the legend "living long & prospering"

hello guys:
After countless hours or searching, I've finally
arrive to what I would
call " The ultimate Alby Mangels fan club home page".
And please dont get me wrong, I do believe
and relate to what Alby
stands for ........(No wonder the effort that you have placed in creating
this webpage.)
Needless to say: Thank you.... not only for publishing such wealth
of
information about him, his adventures and so forth...(and
lets not forget
his girls!).
There's something about him that stands out from the crowd.
Granted You
will not find guys like Alby on a daily basis, and if so
( Few far in
Between).
Anyhow...regarding Fair dinkum search...
As any other guy. Who.... at one time or another wished to take time
off and
travel to another place in the world . It's my turn . And
I am heading Down
Under in the next six months.
Initially..... I started looking for Alby's e-mail address, Hoping
to obtain
some travel advice. I have a couple of weeks to kill and I really
dont want
to take a escorted tour of Australia....not the Alby thing to do...besides...
Who wants to spend 3 weeks on a bus, with people who are also
visiting....not me...
So...Here is the deal... I would like to take some
time off and travel
coast to coast
meeting the local people, and venturing to the Outback.
Do you Guys have any advice you can provide me ( Places to visit
and stay,
car rental and so forth), or pass this along to Alby that would be
even
better..
I dont know anyone Down Under, therefore I am a bit lost trying
to put
together a trip that I can enjoy and remember....
I would appreciate your help in finding what i an looking
for:
My e-mail address in the US is MIBT396@aol.com
I also have an e-mail address on Australia and Is :

Again thanks.....Louis Marden
G'day Shortbread and Rob, my name is Mark Shepherd
I've been involved in filming, editing and sound
recording with Alby and Rick since the W.S.111 days.
I've just mastered a c.d. entitled 'Crossing the
Kalahari and other journeys',which I produced for the
mini series 'Africa - Crossing the Kalahari, - The
Okavango Swamps, - Saving the Flamingos, and - Lake
Koriba. The c.d also includes a recent extended mix.
I was wondering If I could release the c.d. on your
site please.
Regards Mark.
I can't believe I found a website dedicated to one of my heroes.
I always
admired him- and thought he was one of the most bravest people on earth.
I
discovered him 4 years ago. One day I was flipping through the channels-and
watched the travel channel-the show was called "Adventure Bound" And
i was
hooked!!!! Unfortunetly I never taped any of those shows, and i no
longer
have the travel channel-But his adventures will remain with me forever!!!!
Thank you for this site :)

Great effort guys, Nice to see old Alby getting the recognition deserved
for the greatest Aussie budget
adventurer of all time.
I am the editor of a university magazine in Sydney- Vertigo at the
University of Technology, Sydney and we
do a 'Whatever happened to..." section in each edition, this time round
is Alby and we found your site to be
of great use, but we would love to get in touch with the big man himself,
have you got his email address or
the friend's address that he sent his comment from? Understandably
you'd like to keep this priveleged info
to yourselves, but could you make an exception just this once?
Hoping you check the site some time soon, hearing from you..
Thanks,

Thanks for the great site about Alby. I really appreciate it!!
You have a good one!

Thanks for the webpage on Alby. I had tried to find a page on him a
couple
of months ago, found some guy named Alby in Australia, signed his guestbook
telling him how great he was, how his show was so good, he sure did
have a
way with the ladies.... Was not the Alby I wanted, had to go back to
the
guestbook and say 'sorry, wrong guy, I'm sure your cool too, though!'
YES, Alby has reached foreign shores, and I truly doubt he has
been in my
backyard!
I am upset that the Travel channel has taken his show off, it seems.
I loved
his sense of adventure, and I have to admit, I got into seeing what
'babe'
he would have in the next show!
The episode where he and Vic were climbing on the Gretamarie, late at
night,
Alby says "SHH, we'll wake Amanda" when it was some other girl there.
What girl is he with now?
Joey, or is that old news now?

I have attempted to type you twice,I am not sure if you you have recieved

Beaulieu I am a Native
American Indian (just for info only) I have watched your show as much
as I could, Being that
I get home at 5 pm. after a days work. I on a daily basis enjoyed the
program every day for
about two hours.
I have seen most of the shows in repeat and have recorded some for
me viewing pleasure.
However in the past year the Travel Channel has discontinued your program.
This to me has
been very upsetting, I did enjoy it very much, I have a friend that
has sailed the seas and
had at one point owned a sailing vessel.
When he tells me of his adventures and shows me the photos of his ship
I tell him of the
ones that I have been able to experience while watching wour show.
Thank you for the
adventures, please if you have time sent a message to beaulieu_@msn.com
thank you for your time. North Dakota, all time fan and family.
