Here is what some other visitors have had to say from Jan 2001 to December 2001...
Alby is the Entertainer of the Year. Alby is pure. He always
gets the best looking females. He always
knows where to go for adventure. Alby knows how to care for animals.
Thats what you call a super guy. Alby is the
dude who will be there in the end
to the creators of this site,
here in the states (calif)albys big adventure is shown on a cable
channel and ever since my first viewing i've been hooked. Here's
a man who can be tough as leather and ruff it in any conditions
and yet be sensitive to other cultures, animals, or whatever
the subject may be. A person I think we all wish we could be
more
like, and if he ever was in america i'd be honored to buy him a
frosty mug of his choice.the crocodile hunter is known by all,
Alby Mangels without a doubt should equally be as well known.
to all aussies peace and prosper

Alby Mangles Is a "Dead Set Legend".
F*** OATH. I'm now 23 and remember the days in primary school where
we would all be taken to a
classroom(sports room), sit down and watch the Alby Mangles World Safari
series. I'm sure many of us had
the same experience and I thank Alby for showing us the nature of things.
Good onya guys and live on Alby
Mangles, I'm spreading this site like crazy!
Regards, Cameron from somewhere in Victoria.
THANK YOU ABLY MANGELS, FOR SHOWING ME THE MEANING OF LIFE THROUGH
YOUR
FILMS. THIS MESSAGE IS THE LAST! AFTER THIS I'M GOING ADVENTURE
BOUND TO
SOUTH AMERICA AND GET AWAY FROM THIS MODERN DAY WORLD!
Gentlemen, each month, or whenever we get around to it here at
Team Jackass
(www.home.earthlink.net/~mtnaire1969), we feature an individual who
truly
stands out from the crowd, earning both respect and admiration for
performing feats, stunts and lifestyle so amazing, that one can only
stand
back and comment, "What a Jackass!"
Having long admired the travels and musings of Mr. Alby Mangels, we
at Team
Jackass have bestowed upon him the honorary title of "Jackass of the
Month."
We wish him all the best and will always remain devoted fans
ourselves.
Just a couple quick notes on Alby , I guess you know about his farm
on
Southern Yorke Peninsula ( or at least it used to be his - near
Butlers Beach) Another one When i was going to School years ago
whos
helicopter would have just happened to be going through Warooka on
the
back of a truck ( A bit Broken) Alby crashed it near the Warooka
Cemetary, Last time i personally saw Alby was in the old Tyre shop
in
Warooka ( a few years ago now) Buying some more tyres for his white
coloured 4wd, ok got to go now but if you ever need any info on Alby
try the Warooka Pub for info some one there would have to know
something ( as remember the red old truck in one of his movies, it
was
from Warooka)phone 0888545001. cheers.
ALBY is now a German TV star our digital pay TV is now showing all of
his safari films, I hope he gets a few
Dollars to continue his great life style, the only thing that annoys
his German fans is the stupid German
comontator.

What has happened to "Adventurebound"? Our entire family used
to enjoy
watching each new episode on the Travel Channel. Even our cat
misses
the adventures. Are there plans to film new episodes? My
son comes
home each afternoon from school and watches the re-runs, but we want
to
know what Alby has been up to lately. My son went to Australia
and New
Zealand last summer and was hoping to meet Alby but didn't have any
luck. He's 17 and interested in marine biology and anthropology
and
loves any episode pertaining to the sea or ancient people.
Thanks,
Martin, LaVelda, and Sam Barrick
Hi guys,
Just discovered & enjoyed your web site. I've
never met Alby
but viewed WS1 in Hobart, Tas. in '81. Later saw the DAF car
in Sydney complete with map and tree branch support as I
recall. His travels in Africa inspired me to visit for 5 months
in'84, where I met 3 Aussies and travelled from Capetown to
Nairobi. I've scene all the tapes as they were on here daily on
the cable travel channel. ok, take care, joe wilvers
Whats up guys! Awesome job with the website! You can rest comfortably
in knowing that Alby's fame has
reached world wide, as I have watched him on the travel channel for
about a year now. I have watched him
from the small town of Spokane Washington, USA. So you need not worry
about his world fame. I am also
going through the begining stages of purchasing my own catamaran to
explore the south pacific, so if you
could pass this on to Alby, tell him thankyou for inspiring me to follow
my dreams.

G'Day mates,
Smashing Job you guys have done with the Alby Mangels site.
My name is Jay, and I too have been on
the quest to find Alby. The closes I've gotten have been your
website and his offical site. Well the reason
I've been trying to contact him, if because I too, am working on a
World Safari style Film series... and I
would like to get intouch with him to get advice and possible collaberate
with him on part of it. Kinda of the
hero teaching the apperentice. Thank you for talking the time
to read this, bellow I will paste a letter, that I
would appreciate if you could forward to him if possible, your
website said you had his contact info.
Cheers Mate
-Jay
After watching yet another of Alby's adventures on TV here in USA, i
determined to find out all i could about this guy. Been watchin
him for
years and never fail to be amazed/envious/entertained. He just went
off and
did what we all dream of doing. I do have a question or two..is
he married
yet, kids, thats sort of thing. Having passed the 50 yr mark was probably
no
big deal for him...just another adventure to another new place.
A brain
storm....!! He needs to get together with Jimmy Buffett....picture
that for
a while. I have only one regret...Michelle didnt say yes...what
a babe. I
will continue to check into your website....an excellent job and much
appreciated by me and a zillion or more other people I'm sure.
Thanks...Steve Coleman
Hi! Just wanted to let Alby & you guys know how much Alby
and his Television shows Adventurebound
(world Safari 1,2,&3) have meant to me. My Name is Phil Gaither,
I live in Buzzards Bay Massachusets
(on the East coast of the U.S), and I watch Adventurebound with
Alby & his friends every day at 5 P.M on
the Travel Chanel (Ive been watching for 3 years or so), I love the
program! You see I have a dissability that
makes it hard for me to leave home (or work away from home), or travel
(mostly I'm unable to travel by air, I
have been on boats & thats O.K, and driving is good too, I just
don't like planes for long trips) so thanks to
Alby & his program I am able to travel all over the world! At least
from my chair. It really means a lot to me. But I was hoping you
could tell him for me, or pass on my email
to him (he is more than welcome to email me) , He has made
my life much more bareable, and I really
enjoy the show a lot. If he is ever in my area, he is more than welcome
to contact me & visit ( I could show
him everthing arround my area & cape cod!).
Thanks for everything Alby! Godbless, and good luck on your adventures. Your friend,
Phil Gaither
My name is Kenneth Ross,a.k.a. Rosco P., and I just stumbled across
your
web site. I started watching "Adventure Bound" with Alby about six
months
ago. I love the show and often wish I had the freedom that he showed
throughout his shows. Modern life with it's constant pressures
of time
and money grind on one's soul. I have many people depending on me and
that makes me live my life for them. How often I wished that I was
going
up that jungle river or sailing that ocean with Alby totally free from
the pressures of modern life.
Like you the only true answer to this life's
problems I found in
Jesus. I trust Him with my eternal salvation and with helping me get
through this life. Jesus is my all in all.
You have a wonderful family. A godly
wife is a true gift from God.
Cherish her as you would a great treasure. Spend time with your kids
and
teach them day by day, truth upon truth about the Saviour.
Don't let work consume you. Keep it
where it belongs. You are not
your work.
I was good to read about you.
It is good to know I have a brother
on the other side if the world who enjoys Alby with me.
Oh, my future son-in-law is in Australia right
now until May 30. He
is in the Marine Recon(special forces) and is doing some desert training.
Maybe he will run into you and Alby riding camels or something!
God bless you and your
family.

Hi there Down Unda mate.!
Another Alby fan - and to think that I was the only one and couldn't
for the
life of me figure out why the Travel Channel in the states carried
the
show.???? go figure. Will have to mention it to my wife, she thinks
I'm outa
my mind.
Read through your bio - interesting. and a Christian too??!
Same. Same. Same.
Was wondering a few things.
1. Where is Alby now? if you know the latest as of 5-2001
2. Do you have any "world safari" plans? you or your mates? others
you know?
3. Would you like to collaborate on a 200_? New World Safari - complete
with
new characters and adventures?
4. Where would you like to start? what kind of capitol do you think
this
would require to begin?
5. Would you agree that the more "modern" life becomes - the more people
in
general are seeking true adventure, different and unique experiences
and
searching for that "meaning" in life that God has a bit to do with.
I don't
think that God intended us to live in little square boxes doing the
same
routine day in and day out. He created a sense of adventure for everyone.
Get back with me, on this.
Me you ask.
My name is David McCarty, in Oklahoma City, OK US. 32 years old, married
for
10 years, have a 6 yr old boy and 3 yr old girl. 2 dogs and a BBQ grill
in
the back yard. B Before meeting my wife I was planning a psuedo -safari
to
Mexico, and then on to OZ with a friend and put the deal on hold while
I
checked out this girl.... That was 10 years ago, and no real regrets
- miss
the ability to pick up and go though.
Have been reconsidering life in general lately. Seeking what God has
in
store for me, and looking to use all of the skills and talents that
He has
given. A big part of that is a serious wanderlust and need to walkabout
-
know what I mean. I am looking to explore the idea of making a living
while
traveling etc,, perhaps doing a safari doco, in the same vein as Adventure
Bound. Don't know how the wife an kids fit in just yet, but am determined
to
at least seriously look at the options.
Any opinion?/?
get back with me - if you are still interested in the World Safari concept
and all.

Hello Alby, I am 24 years old, and I live in
Mississippi, USA. I am curious as to what sort of
cameras you used in the 1980's to film your trips. I
am a major fan of low budget filming, as well as your
excellent programs!
Thanks, Ian Bartlett
Yes folks this email is info provided straight from the man himself.
Sailing the Pacfic to America, taking on crew, so look out guys
and girls
for a lovely looking cat in you local port and get out your credit
card for
the sail of all sails.
The colours of the boat and the sails is not known to this keen sailor
but
you will know the man when you meet him and remember, just breath he
is flesh
and blood just like the rest of us.
Hey,
I am a big fan of Alby. I certainly wished i could sail around the
globe like
him. If there is any way i can go on one of his sailing adventure please
let
me know. appreciate, Sergio Garcia
Hey I miss his travels on The Travel Channel. What has Alby been
up to? I
really enjoyed him and his adventures. Could you let me know
whats up with
Alby? Thanks Sue Minneapolis Minnesota

Hello!!!
We (2 Dutch girls) used to work for Ably in Meningie (March/April 2000)
and
would like to know his personal email address, because we want to send
him a
personal email, and let him know how we got on in Oz.
Don't know if you can contact him personally, but can you let him know!!!
Thanks
Saskya and Astrid (Alby Chicks, hahahaha)
Hi Andrew!
Now are you going to tell me that you never have met Alby Mangles while
being in the same neck of
the woods with him? I spread the word about Alby sailing to the
States on Anthon's board and no one
seems to know anything about it which is not surprising because we're
the last to find out about anything
unless it's posted on the Travel Channel about our illustrious intrepid
explorer. Sent off an e-mail to
Rick Snel and Sherri Jo asking about it but haven't got a reply yet.
Don't suppose I'll get a reply from
Rick because he never returns anything anyway. Sherry Jo
is a little more accommodating so we'll
see. Saw a new Adventure Bound doco today with Alby, KB, and
Luke going on a goat muster near
the area where a Mad Max movie was made with Mel Gibson. Alby
said the goat meat was going to
be sold to a Canadian fast-food franchise as hamburger meat.
Hamburger meat? Well that will surely
keep me away from any Big Macs in Canada.
See ya!
Dave Landau in San Diego, CA
Did I miss K.B among the articles? I liked him alot. Strange but
constant. Remember the trip they took down the Murray? I watch him
every
chance I get. I really enjoy all the shows but my most favorites are
the ones with
Joey. I think shes the best girl yet. Are they still together and will
we see
more Adventure from our hero in the near future?
Dear Andrew:
Just a short note to tell you how much I enjoyed reading all the work
you
have done on the Alby Mangels site. I have always felt that I
was one of his
biggest fans, but find there is so much that I did not know about him
and his
life, and that there are many 1000s of people like me.
I am 45 and have been plagued with health problems for the last 10 or
11
years that prohibit me not only from physical activities, but even
from
working. By watching Alby "do his thing" I have been able to
"experience"
many adventures that I can only dream about.
However, my BIGGEST thrill came while reading your bio. I am an
ordained
Baptist minister, and pastored churches before I was forced to stop
due to
the aforementioned problems. I am so excited that you, too, have
found the
salvation of the Lord, and proud that you use your forum to make sure
and
mention it to all who would read what you have written without trying
to
force it down their throats.
I live in Springfield, Missouri (in the USA, of course). I have
never been
to Australia but have high hopes that in the next few years I will
be able to
make the trip. My only regret is that I do not live anywhere
near you and
that I and my wife cannot have the pleasure of meeting you in person.
You
seem like the type of person we would enjoy getting to know!
One last comment/question.........as citizens of different countries,
you
obviously know that we have our own ways of saying things--our own
idioms or
vernacular. I can understand and "translate" almost all "Aussie-isms",
but I
cannot understand what "the land of Oz" is. Is that a reference
to the
USA??? (Having been born and raised in our next-door state of
Kansas, I know
that reference is sometimes used here in the States to refer to Kansas,
due
to the movie, "The Wizard of Oz".) Just wondered.
Thank you so much for taking the time to read my ramblings!
Sincerely,
Melvin Carter----------------->Twoboyz4papa@aol.com

Hi. I am living here in the U.S. and I have
a project in mind that I
think has real potential. I saw on your website that you were contacted
by
Paul Iacono who was a producer for one of Alby's shows, Adventure Bound.
Since my project is based on the same idea as that of Alby's show,
I would
really like to contact Paul just to get some inside advice on how I
should
go about constructing and filming my adventure. I completely understand
if
he doesn't want his email given out, but perhaps we can still work
something
out if that is the case. Thanks in advance.
What ever happened to Judy Green? How old is she now?
My wife and I and my Parents love watching Alby's show "Adventure Bound"
on our BIG dishes here
in Canada!
We're real arm chair travellers...and besides that bloke can sure pull the birds(chicks)!!! LOL
Cheers
Richard Bligdon
ps: He's the real "Indiana Jones," pardon me "Indiana Alby!!!" LOL
I just discovered Alby Mangels here in the USA when my cable company
started
carrying the Travel Channel. Simply put.....Alby is not just a man....He'
is
definitely One In A Billion!............I love the guy, he's great!
I wish a
lot more people in this world were like him!
May God bless him in all his travels! I only wish I could communicate
with
him more directly. Thanks, Austrailia, for producing who in my eyes
is one
of the few people in this world I would pay to meet. God bless you
all for
even making this possible, and, I love the website!
Very Sincerely From, Ohio, USA

By sheer chance I stumbled upon Alby's website and feel quite excited.
I had the pleasure of meeting him
when we shared a cab from the Windhoek airport to downtown Windhoek,
Namibia, approx. 4 years ago.
He asked me out to dinner and subsequently we had the opportunity of
spending some time together ... he
even wrote to me, but since my address and circumstances have changed
since then, I somehow lost
touch. I now live and work in Frankfurt, Germany, on a permanent
basis and would love to re-establish
contact. I remember him saying that he visited a film company
in Munich occasionally. Please forward my
message.. . would love to hear from him personally and would be very
interested if he can still remember
me?
Rosita H.
I had a chat with Alby. (or somebody claiming to be alby)
Go to the site : http://www.cornboy.com/hst/gathering/boards.asp
Look for the message that was posted on 9/26/01 at 10:42:28pm
Is it him? If you want to send whoever it is an email, just click on
his
underlined name.
I'm not a fan of Alby's at all, in fact i didnt even know who he was,
until
after reading his second post where he claims that humping is his game.
His
name rang a bell ( i dont know why, like i said i didnt even know who
he
was), so i typed his name into the search engine and i got your site.
If you recieve this email PLEASE let me know, or if you need any more
info

Dear Sirs, My friends and I always watch Alby's show on the
Travel Show and are quite taken with it. It comes on right
before we go to work at the hospital and it is so
fascinating and uplifting our day surely starts off for the
better. Australia seems like a wonderful place and I am
going to make every effort to visit some day. -Scott, Bob,
and Cathy of Chandler, Arizona.
I have been watching Adventure Bound on and off for over
two years on
the Travel Channel.Unfortunately my cable company did not have
the
Travel channel and watched it at my mothers while visiting her,
then
she moved and I couldn't see it any more. Fortunately my
cable company
just began having the Travel channel and once again I can enjoy Alby.
I
record it and watch it each evening. It is so refreshing to watch
true
adventure, and his honesty while narrating. I respect his love
of all
people and the environment.
Had to put in my 2 cents worth.

It is nice to know that alby and Judy and Mike, and Ana are well In
the picture above where
Juddy green is put in ambulance, The guy with the bear is me (PACO)
It has been quite some time since I have written. It appears that Alby's
adventures with his catamaran have ended as
I surfed across this information on emultihulls.com that his catamaran
has been sold to:
John and Alana Woods, "ZENNANI" Perry 43’
It will be interesting what he will bring to us next.
Love the site.

i´m curious what´s going on...

Hi, You have a great web site. I was wondering if
you
could help me. I am trying to locate the theme song
from Alby's TV series, I think it was Adventure Bound.
The song itself may have been called "Restless",
I'm not sure. I remember that the singer was Glen Shorrock.
Would you by any chance know the correct name and if
it is on any particular album.
Thanks alot for your help.
Regards,
Clive D'Souza
Hi!I hope I'm sending this to the correct address, I didn't see any
other
one's on the site. First off let me just say what a fabulous web site
you
all have created! It is VERY informative & entertaining! Isn't
Alby just the
best?? :) And secondly, I was wondering if you could give me any info
on the
woman w/Alby on the current episodes on the Travel Channel named Joey?
Your
help would be greatly appreciated.
Thanks!

Well Alby, gday to ya.
Just watched one of your adventure
where you and your friend
found the opals the went back
to the gretta marie with a couple
of quick stops in between.
then there is Amanda what else can
I say.
Well I cant say I've ever had any
experiences even after 10 years
in the navy and making a 5 day
vacation in Sidney it was great.
well have a good day and keep up the
good work and keep filming.
thanks from a new follower
Terribly entertained by the interview on Radio 612 in Brisbane last
night.
Your comments caused me to check the website. I was always amazed by
the
girls Alby attracted and by the amateurish "documentaries" he produced.
Disaster followed this fellow everywhere, as did the attractive and
well-endowed girls. Thanks for making me laugh!
Susan
I believe I saw Alby this year in Hawaii in June. He was on a
large sailboat
in the harbor of Lahaina on Maui. There was a dog a good looking
chick
and what seemed like tons and tons of scuba gear.
