to the creators of this site,
here in the states (calif)albys big adventure is shown on a cable
channel and ever since my first viewing i've been hooked. Here's
a man who can be tough as leather and ruff it in any conditions
and yet be sensitive to other cultures, animals, or whatever
the subject may be. A person I  think we all wish we could be more
like, and if he ever was in america i'd be honored to buy him a
frosty mug of his choice.the crocodile hunter is known by all,
Alby Mangels without a doubt should equally be as well known.

you guys can still get to the new site, but the old one is now being shut down permanently, as of March
5th, because the company is going under - if you could, please update the links to the new site when

What has happened to "Adventurebound"?  Our entire family used to enjoy
watching each new episode on the Travel Channel.  Even our cat misses
the adventures.  Are there plans to film new episodes?  My son comes
home each afternoon from school and watches the re-runs, but we want to
know what Alby has been up to lately.  My son went to Australia and New
Zealand last summer and was hoping to meet Alby but didn't have any
luck.  He's 17 and interested in marine biology and anthropology and
loves any episode pertaining to the sea or ancient people.

big deal for him...just another adventure to another new place.  A brain

Hi!  Just wanted to let Alby & you guys know how much Alby and his Television shows Adventurebound
(world Safari 1,2,&3) have meant to me.  My Name is Phil Gaither, I live in Buzzards Bay Massachusets
(on the East coast of the U.S), and I  watch Adventurebound with Alby & his friends every day at 5 P.M on
the Travel Chanel (Ive been watching for 3 years or so), I love the program!  You see I have a dissability that
makes it hard for me to leave home (or work away from home), or travel (mostly I'm unable to travel by air, I
have been on boats & thats O.K, and driving is good too, I just don't like planes for long trips) so thanks to
Alby & his program I am able to travel all over the world! At least
from my chair. It really means a lot to me.  But I was hoping you could tell him for me, or pass on my email
to him (he is more than welcome to email me) ,   He has made my life much more bareable, and I really
enjoy the show a lot. If he is ever in my area, he is more than welcome to contact me & visit ( I could show
him everthing arround my area & cape cod!).

Thanks for everything Alby!  Godbless, and good luck on your adventures.  Your friend,

Phil Gaither

My name is Kenneth Ross,a.k.a. Rosco P., and I just stumbled across your
web site. I started watching "Adventure Bound" with Alby about six months
ago. I love the show and often wish I had the freedom that he showed
throughout  his shows. Modern life with it's constant pressures of time
and money grind on one's soul. I have many people depending on me and
that makes me live my life for them. How often I wished that I was going
up that jungle river or sailing that ocean with Alby totally free from
the pressures of modern life.
Like you the only true answer to this life's problems I found in
Jesus. I trust Him with my eternal salvation and with helping me get
through this life. Jesus is my all in all.
You have a wonderful family. A godly wife is a true gift from God.
Cherish her as you would a great treasure. Spend time with your kids and
teach them day by day, truth upon truth about the Saviour.
Don't let work consume you. Keep it where it belongs. You are not
your work.
I was good to read about you. It is good to know  I have a brother
on the other side if the world who enjoys Alby with me.
Oh, my future son-in-law is in Australia right now until May 30. He
is in the Marine Recon(special forces) and is doing some desert training.
Maybe he will run into you and Alby riding camels or something!

Hi there Down Unda mate.!

Another Alby fan - and to think that I was the only one and couldn't for the
life of me figure out why the Travel Channel in the states carried the
show.???? go figure. Will have to mention it to my wife, she thinks I'm outa
my mind.

Read through your bio - interesting. and a Christian too??!
Same. Same. Same.

Was wondering a few things.
1. Where is Alby now? if you know the latest as of 5-2001
2. Do you have any "world safari" plans? you or your mates? others you know?
3. Would you like to collaborate on a 200_? New World Safari - complete with
new characters and adventures?
4. Where would you like to start? what kind of capitol do you think this
would require to begin?
5. Would you agree that the more "modern" life becomes - the more people in
general are seeking true adventure, different and unique experiences and
searching for that "meaning" in life that God has a bit to do with. I don't
think that God intended us to live in little square boxes doing the same
routine day in and day out. He created a sense of adventure for everyone.

Get back with me, on this.

Me you ask.

My name is David McCarty, in Oklahoma City, OK US. 32 years old, married for
10 years, have a 6 yr old boy and 3 yr old girl. 2 dogs and a BBQ grill in
the back yard. B Before meeting my wife I was planning a psuedo -safari to
Mexico, and then on to OZ with a friend and put the deal on hold while I
checked out this girl.... That was 10 years ago, and no real regrets - miss
the ability to pick up and go though.

Have been reconsidering life in general lately. Seeking what God has in
store for me, and looking to use all of the skills and talents that He has
given. A big part of that is a serious wanderlust and need to walkabout -
know what I mean. I am looking to explore the idea of making a living while
traveling etc,, perhaps doing a safari doco, in the same vein as Adventure
Bound. Don't know how the wife an kids fit in just yet, but am determined to
at least seriously look at the options.

Any opinion?/?

get back with me - if you are still interested in the World Safari concept
and all.

Chat later
Dave

Hi Andrew!

Now are you going to tell me that you never have met Alby Mangles while being in the same neck of
the woods with him?  I spread the word about Alby sailing to the States on Anthon's board and no one
seems to know anything about it which is not surprising because we're the last to find out about anything
unless it's posted on the Travel Channel about our illustrious intrepid explorer.    Sent off an e-mail to
Rick Snel and Sherri Jo asking about it but haven't got a reply yet.  Don't suppose I'll get a reply from
Rick because he never returns  anything anyway.  Sherry Jo is a little more accommodating so we'll
see.  Saw a new Adventure Bound doco today with Alby, KB, and Luke going on a goat muster near
the area where a Mad Max movie was made with Mel Gibson.  Alby said the goat meat was going to
be sold to a Canadian fast-food franchise as hamburger meat.  Hamburger meat?  Well that will surely
keep me away from any Big Macs in Canada.

See ya!

Dear Andrew:

Just a short note to tell you how much I enjoyed reading all the work you
have done on the Alby Mangels site.  I have always felt that I was one of his
biggest fans, but find there is so much that I did not know about him and his
life, and that there are many 1000s of people like me.

I am 45 and have been plagued with health problems for the last 10 or 11
years that prohibit me not only from physical activities, but even from
working.  By watching Alby "do his thing" I have been able to "experience"
many adventures that I can only dream about.

However, my BIGGEST thrill came while reading your bio.  I am an ordained
Baptist minister, and pastored churches before I was forced to stop due to
the aforementioned problems.  I am so excited that you, too, have found the
salvation of the Lord, and proud that you use your forum to make sure and
mention it to all who would read what you have written without trying to
force it down their throats.

I live in Springfield, Missouri (in the USA, of course).  I have never been
to Australia but have high hopes that in the next few years I will be able to
make the trip.  My only regret is that I do not live anywhere near you and
that I and my wife cannot have the pleasure of meeting you in person.  You
seem like the type of person we would enjoy getting to know!

One last comment/question.........as citizens of different countries, you
obviously know that we have our own ways of saying things--our own idioms or
vernacular.  I can understand and "translate" almost all "Aussie-isms", but I
cannot understand what "the land of Oz" is.  Is that a reference to the
USA???  (Having been born and raised in our next-door state of Kansas, I know
that reference is sometimes used here in the States to refer to Kansas, due
to the movie, "The Wizard of Oz".)  Just wondered.

Thank you so much for taking the time to read my ramblings!

Sincerely,
Melvin Carter----------------->Twoboyz4papa@aol.com    *------------>

By sheer chance I stumbled upon Alby's website and feel quite excited.  I had the pleasure of meeting him
when we shared a cab from the Windhoek airport to downtown Windhoek, Namibia, approx. 4 years ago.
He asked me out to dinner and subsequently we had the opportunity of spending some time together ... he
even wrote to me, but since my address and circumstances have changed since then, I somehow lost
touch.  I now live and work in Frankfurt, Germany, on a permanent basis and would love to re-establish
contact.  I remember him saying that he visited a film company in Munich occasionally. Please forward my
message.. . would love to hear from him personally and would be very interested if he can still remember
me?

I had a chat with Alby. (or somebody claiming to be alby)

Go to the site : http://www.cornboy.com/hst/gathering/boards.asp

Look for the message that was posted on 9/26/01 at 10:42:28pm

Is it him? If you want to send whoever it is an email, just click on his
underlined name.

I'm not a fan of Alby's at all, in fact i didnt even know who he was, until
after reading his second post where he claims that humping is his game. His
name rang a bell ( i dont know why, like i said i didnt even know who he
was), so i typed his name into the search engine and i got your site.

If you recieve this email PLEASE let me know, or if you need any more info
contact me at the below address .

Dear Sirs, My friends and I always watch Alby's show on the
Travel Show and are quite taken with it. It comes on right
before we go to work at the hospital and it is so
fascinating and uplifting our day surely starts off for the
better. Australia seems like a wonderful place and I am
going to make every effort to visit some day. -Scott, Bob,

I have been  watching Adventure Bound on and off for  over two years on
the Travel Channel.Unfortunately my  cable company did not have the
Travel channel and watched it  at my mothers while visiting her, then
she moved  and I couldn't see it any more.  Fortunately my cable company
just began having the Travel channel and once again I can enjoy Alby.  I
record it and watch it each evening.  It is so refreshing to watch true
adventure, and his honesty while narrating.  I respect his love of all
people and  the environment.

Had to put in my 2 cents worth.

It has been quite some time since I have written. It appears that Alby's adventures with his catamaran have ended as
I surfed across this information on emultihulls.com that his catamaran has been sold to:
John and Alana Woods, "ZENNANI" Perry 43’

It will be interesting what he will bring to us next.

Love the site.

Hi, You have a great web site.    I was wondering if you
could help me.  I am trying to locate the theme song
from Alby's TV series, I think it was Adventure Bound.

The song itself may have been called "Restless",
I'm not sure.  I remember that the singer was Glen Shorrock.

Would you by any chance know the correct name and if
it is on any particular album.

Thanks alot for your help.
Regards,
Clive D'Souza

Hi!I hope I'm sending this to the correct address, I didn't see any other
one's on the site. First off let me just say what a fabulous web site you
all have created! It is VERY informative & entertaining! Isn't Alby just the
best?? :) And secondly, I was wondering if you could give me any info on the
woman w/Alby on the current episodes on the Travel Channel named Joey? Your
help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks!

Terribly entertained by the interview on Radio 612 in Brisbane last night.
Your comments caused me to check the website. I was always amazed by the
girls Alby attracted and by the amateurish "documentaries" he produced.
Disaster followed this fellow everywhere, as did the attractive and
well-endowed girls.  Thanks for making me laugh!

I believe I saw Alby this year in Hawaii in June.  He was on a large sailboat
in the harbor of Lahaina on Maui.  There was a dog a good looking chick
and what seemed like tons and tons of scuba gear.
